Welcome to the Sloterplas Canoe Club

We have been a friendly and active canoe club for over 50 years at the beautiful Sloterplas where members come together to sail trips or go out individually with a kayak, Canadian or SUP. Our terrain on the water sports island in the Sloterplas is a beautiful place to meet each other and make various trips in the surprisingly beautiful surroundings of Amsterdam Nieuw-west. For new members we still have a few places available to store a kayak.

On our club evening Wednesday evening we leave in the summer season at 19:30 for a tour through Nieuw-west and afterwards you can have a drink in our canteen. Also on other days members regularly go out to make beautiful tours.

On our club days on Wednesday evening (from 7:30 PM) and Sunday afternoon (from 2 PM) the door is open for more information, becoming a member or registering for the introductory course.

Our treasurer, rescue kayak trainer and adventurer passed away on December 14, 2024.

Jan was not only the very sharp treasurer of our club, he was also always ready for new members, led the rescue clinics and organised the winter swimming pool training. Jan was warm, witty and down to earth. A born adventurer, for whom no cliff was too steep, no wave too high and no road too narrow. Together with Joke, but also often alone, he made wonderful journeys to unknown places, which he could tell wonderful stories about. Jan was fearless.

We are a canoe club. You can join us no rent canoes. You can rent canoes from our neighbors at Sloterplas Water Sports Centre.

We have a Kanuverband. They can be with our little Kanus mieten.

We are a canoe association, No rental service.
