September 1, 2024: KVS 'Canal Cruise Amsterdam'.
On Sunday 1 September 2024, canoe club Sloterplas will once again organize its annual international Canal Tour through Amsterdam. From our clubhouse at the Sloterplas we will make a day trip through the city center of Amsterdam. The tour is approximately 25 km long. Along the way we will try to take at least one break, where we can go ashore and to a toilet. We will sail with two groups of maximum 35 participants. The groups start 1 hour apart: group 1 starts at 10:00 and group 2 at 11:00. Participation is free - a donation is appreciated.

Registration is open until Wednesday, August 28. Please state your name, email address and the time you want to start. Also state the number of participants. After registration you will receive the confirmation of participation by email. You must show this proof of participation when checking in.
When a group is full, this will also be indicated via email and on the website. If possible, you will be placed in another group. Commercial organizations are not welcome.
Desired experience:
The canal tour is only suitable for paddlers who can paddle a good speed of approx. 5 km/h and a distance of 25 km. After 2 km we pass a lock. Participants who are clearly not keeping up at that moment, are requested to return to the club.
Camping in advance
Camping is not allowed on the Watersporteiland. However, it is possible to store your canoe or canoe trailer on our grounds in advance. For participants who want to camp, we recommend 'De Sport Camping Amsterdam', on the Tom Schreursweg in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. The campsite is not directly on the water (distance 750 meters). Of course, there are also other campsites and other possibilities to stay overnight in the vicinity of Amsterdam. Of course, there are also campsites elsewhere in the region.
